Have you ever heard the amazing tale of John Boyle O’Reilly?

In 1868 he arrived as a political prisoner (one of 62) along with 279 convicts. 

While working as a member of a convict road crew in Bunbury, John began plotting his daring escape… and he pulled it off! 

Join tour guide Peter Murphy as he maps out the legendary tale that will see you rambling through nature, in the same area where the fight for freedom took place, more than 150 years ago 🇨🇮.

Labour Day is all about honouring hard work and you know what they say… work hard, play harder.

Here’s what’s happening this weekend.

🛻 The @treendalefarmhotel are living up to their award-winning name (2022 Winner of Australia’s Best Family Dining Experience, 2023 Winner of WAs Best Regional Restaurant). This weekend they’re treating the kids to an inflatable waterside and FREE slushies between from 11am to 4pm. 

🏏A huge welcome to the shining stars of WA women’s country cricket who are here for the 2024 women’s country week carnival. Starting at 9am Saturday you can catch them at Harvey Recreation Ground and Leschenault Recreation Park.

🐐 The @harveyfarmbarn is always a family favourite and full of friendly animals that love to be cuddled and fed. Opening hours are 9:30am to 1pm.

🐠This Sunday is #CleanUpAustraliaDay! Grab some gloves and give back to our beautiful environment while making friends. @leschenaultcatchmentcouncil  are meeting at the Ridley Place Foreshore at 9am and will be sifting through the area until 11am.
