100 Acre Wood

The 100 Acre Wood is a circuit of trails immediately north of the Myalup townsite, adjacent to the Yalgorup National Park.

The walking tracks (which are marked by poles and pegs) will take you through a wide range of vegetation types from sand dunes to Tuart forest and provide a wonderful panoramic view of the southern portion of Lake Preston and the Darling Range, plus views of the Indian Ocean.

The 100 Acre Wood is home to the rare Graceful Sun Moth (Synemon gratiosa). The moth is specially protected fauna under the WA Wildlife Conservation Act and only appears for a few weeks each year - usually late February to March.

The car park for the trail is located next to the Yalgorup National Park information bay on Reading/Lake Preston Road.

Since the wood is inhabited by a range of small animals such as bandicoots it is requested that you keep your dogs under control if you take them into the Wood.

Time: Allow 1 hour.
Length:  3km return.

SHORT LOOP B

Time: Allow 45 minutes.
Length: 2.25km return.

LONG LOOP C

Time: Allow 1 hour.
Length: 3km return.

Surface:  Sand. Uneven surface with dune climbs. 15 metre elevation gain.
Difficulty: Grade 3. Sandy surface.
