Running from 11-13 September 2026, Harvey Region Heritage Festival will bring our heritage to life through intimate, immersive experiences, unique heritage events and family-friendly activities across the region.

Choose Your Own Adventure 🧭
This Adult Learners Week, set off on an adventure across the Harvey Region with the Shire of Harvey Libraries.
From 1–8 September, explore the region, discover new places and learn more about the unique stories, features and communities that make our region so special.
Pick up your adventure passport and stickers from Harvey or Australind Library, then choose your own journey as you visit different locations across the Harvey Region.
Along the way, take some photos and record where you went, what you did and what you learnt. Your adventures will help showcase the places and experiences discovered by our community.
Then, come along to Morning Tea at Harvey Library on Tuesday, 8 September at 11am to share your adventures and discoveries.

🏴☠️ All aboard for a little playground adventure! 🌊
Waabiny Playground at the Binningup Beach Foreshore is a firm favourite with little ones and parents alike… and it’s easy to see why!
With beautiful ocean views right beside the playground, little imaginations can run wild as kids set off on pirate adventures aboard the much-loved pirate ship, Waabiny. 🏴☠️✨
From toddlers to big kids and teens, there’s plenty to explore… climbing, sliding, swinging and even some magical musical elements! And with soft fall surfacing and plenty of shade, it’s a great spot for kids to play while parents can relax nearby.
You’ll also find sheltered seating, picnic tables and a gas BBQ, making it easy to turn your playground visit into a relaxed family lunch. 🌭☀️

🌿✨ Celebrate May Gibbs in Harvey! ✨🌿
As part of the Harvey Region Heritage Festival, we’re celebrating the wonderful world of May Gibbs with a week of activities from 12–18 September!
The celebrations kick off on Saturday, 12 September with a special May Gibbs Singing Picnic at Stirling Cottage Gardens, right beside the May Gibbs Trail. It’s a fun morning for little ones to sing, explore and celebrate the beloved creator of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. 🐨🌿
The celebrations continue throughout the week at Harvey Library, with May Gibbs story times, a craft competition and a special display featuring items from May Gibbs’ life, kindly lent by the Harvey Museum and the Knight family. The week will wrap up on Friday, 18 September with an afternoon tea featuring a presentation from a member of May Gibbs’ family, the launch of a newly published May Gibbs book by author Dianne Wolfer, craft competition prize giving and a celebration of 105 years of the Harvey Public Library building.
Whether you’re a lifelong May Gibbs fan or discovering her stories for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! 🌱💚

As part of the Harvey Region Heritage Festival, we’re excited to showcase an evening celebrating the Italian traditions, flavours and local produce that have helped shape the Harvey community.
Join GeoVino on Friday 11 September for Italian-inspired food, local wines and a relaxed evening of good food and great company. 🍝
